Working for Myself

wire wrap, local, art, mineral patterns, santa cruz

This is the first piece I ever wrapped with silver wire.

I love making art for other people. It feels really special to give someone else a piece of art that has my energy literally wrapped up in it. When the focus of my art is to share it with everyone else, it can be easy to forget that I really am doing this for me.

I want to follow up Julianna’s sweet post on self-love with my own reminder to myself about how good it feels to give my energy back to the source- me!

The piece that’s pictured above is the first pendant that I ever wrapped with silver wire. Everything about this piece feels special to me. At the very least, this pendant is a reminder of a meaningful memory. It feels important that I keep this around to remember my progress as an artist, and to remember that I really do make art for myself. that fact that I get to share it with my community, especially you readers, is an added bonus.
