(First!) Digital Painting – Nude Peace

peace nude

I’ve been taking a figure painting class at UCSC with Professor Noah Buchanan, which has been overwhelming me with inspiration. Aside from making a few off-credit paintings in my free time, I now have the option to make digital paintings like this one, which I call, simply, Nude Peace. Although somewhat of a test run, Nude Peace is not only that.

Nude Peace encourages confidence with one’s body as a means of attaining peace of mind. If there’s only one thing that I’ve learned from painting and drawing from an array of live nude figures, it’s that the human body is flawless no matter what. I have spent hours studying bodies, making sure to mimic every crevice and curve as precisely as possible–in other words, accepting “flaws.” Coincidentally, accepting flaws is the only way to make something perfect.  What do you think?

How will we find peace in our minds if our minds are focused on our bodies? Besides, letting go of insecurities is the only way to truly relax. I hope that you can find your peace today.
