Check out this 1950s vintage business card. I particularly love the old Santa Cruz phone number GArden 3-3701.

Since those two bold letters were just easier-to-understand placeholders for numbers (G=4 and A=2 on your phone keypad) that number today would be (831) 423-3701. Sadly, no one currently has that number, but I still gave it a call hoping to let them know I found their card.

I found this business card in a home expense journal, which someone used to meticulously log their home repairs over a decade of remodeling. Even the Journal on its own is a neat piece of trivia, with pricing for things like lumber, bathroom fixtures and a whole lot of saw sharpening.
