The Thomas Gallery in Ben Lomond is currently exhibiting Season’s Splendor, the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center’s annual holiday gift show. This is the last of the gallery’s six exhibitions held throughout each year at SCMAC, which has been providing art activities since 1987. Their holiday event features work for sale by 35 participating local artists, including jewelry, ceramics, glass, baskets, scarves, gloves, wood boxes, oils, watercolors, prints, paintings, cards, and sculpture.

Many Hands Gallery in Capitola has been in business for almost 20 years showing and selling high quality artwork produced by around 100 local and national artists. The store represents an ongoing “core group” of artists as well as hosts a rotating number of guest artists. Many Hands features a large variety of mediums including wall art, paintings, ceramic, glass, sculpture, jewelry, fabric, and more. (It also has the added bonus of being across from Gayles Bakery.)

Artisans Gallery first opened in downtown Santa Cruz in 1976 as an artist cooperative, and is now owned by local Linnaea Holgers James. Linnaea continues the store’s longstanding tradition of selling only local art and American made objects, as well as provides the space for monthly rotating art shows. Artisans carries a wide selection, including jewelry, glass, ceramics, metal work, woodwork, housewares, cards, candles, bath products, toys, and games. Linnaea and her husband Peter also run Agency down the street from Artisans Gallery. As tribute to the storefront’s previous services as Santa Cruz Travel, Agency reflects creative elements of work and travel, and carries contemporary home goods and lifestyle accessories.

Small Works Exhibit at Radius Gallery

Radius Gallery at the Tannery Arts Center is in the midst of hosting Small Works, the multi-faceted venue’s yearly holiday gift show. Under the direction of artist Ann Hazels, the gallery presents rotating exhibitions of local, regional, and international artists. The 2016 Small Works show is displaying and selling the work of 12 Santa Cruz artisans. The group represents a variety of mediums including ceramic, jewelry, painting, collage, illustration, glass, leather, textiles, wood, and printmaking.

Art of Santa Cruz is located in the Capitola Mall and filled to the brim with work from over 100 professional artists around Santa Cruz County. The a 4000 sq. ft. venue exhibits vast amounts of art for sale accompanied by informational artist profiles. Art of Santa Cruz features a little bit of every art form: watercolors, oil on canvas, acrylic, photography, mosaics, metal, fabric, woodwork, jewelry, ceramics, clothing, hats, blankets, body products, furniture, journals, cards, cutting boards, chocolate, lamps, glass, collage, gourds, dolls, pillows, purses, yard art, bird houses, and hanging mobiles.
