After your Thanksgiving feast is done, and the excitement and wonder of the holidays begins Capitola has the family friendly events to keep you coming back and loving the village.
November 24th
Surfin’ Santa
Time: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM PST
Join Santa on the beach to welcome his wave riding arrival at 12pm. Once Santa lands on shore, he’ll joyfully greet the crowd before settling in his beach chair for a nice long visit with all the kids. Be sure to bring your camera to capture a memorable day in Capitola…could very well make the perfect holliday card photo! Enjoy refreshments and face painting while waiting to visit with Santa.
Tree Lighting
5:00 P.M.
After a great day in the Capitola Village gather around with friends and family for the annual tree lighting.
Window Decorating and Instagram Contest
This year’s Capitola Village Window Decorating Contest, will be running for 20 days: starting on the Winter Kick-Off Event with Surfing Santa on Saturday, November 25th and ending on the first day of iSkate Capitola on Friday, December 15th! Capitola Village businesses will be competing for the title of “Best Holiday Window Decoration.” The winner will also get $150 donated to a charity of their choice.

INSTAGRAM CONTEST
This year’s Window Decorating Contest will include an Instagram contest. Take a selfie or a group photo in front of or inside a participating business. Post that photo to Instagram with the hashtag #capitolaholidaywindows and tag @capitolavillage for a chance to win gift certificates to Capitola Village. The Instagram contest runs from November 25 through December 15.
Winners of the Instagram contest will be announced the week of December 18th!

iSkate – Ice Skating

Glide into the holidays and join us for a fun and festive ice skating adventure in Capitola Village! Open daily from December 15, 2017 through January 7, 2018. Don’t miss the chance to create holiday memories with your loved ones!
From families with kids on Winter Break to couples, friends and co-workers, everyone can enjoy ice skating with the beautiful Monterey Bay as the backdrop. Twinkling lights, decorated storefront widows, and trees sprinkled throughout the Village will transform our beach town into a magical winter wonderland!
