The Reach
If you have become familiar with the Saturday Morning Cartoons posts/series, you probably know that I like to focus on minute details in my illustrations. This Saturday I thought that I would try something a little different.
Whilst I am known for my extremely expressive drawings of faces, I thought that it would be helpful and interesting to try to express these same intense emotions without using tell-tale faces as a crutch. To simplify things further, I limited myself to one or two lines per “go.”
Although it is difficult for me to not infect my sketchbooks with wrinkled face after wrinkled face, like a pile of dirty laundry–I welcome this new strategy of visual expression and hope to continue this new dialect of drawing.
