This piece has the detail work complete and is almost finished.
This piece is very close to being complete. For those of you that have been keeping up with my posts, you have seen the progression over the weeks as I add more layers of wire and stones.
This week I added decorative detail work. My goals were to make the piece as sturdy as possible and to add more elements to make the piece more exciting to look at. Sometimes I am able to work with pieces of wire that are left over on the piece from adding other elements. As you can see from earlier progress posts of this pendant, there were several pieces of wire sticking out from the sides of the pendant. I used some of those wires to create the detail work. I also added some new components in places that I felt needed more support or detail.
The next and final step is to add a bail to the top. A bail is the loop where the pendant will hang from a necklace. I am excited to share the final product next week.
